Habitat for Humanity of Lee County tops the non-profit nation in fiscal responsibility; this according to Charity Navigator, the nation’s largest and most-utilized evaluator of charities. The Lee County Habitat chapter received a 4-star rating, the highest rating offered, for its ability to efficiently manage and grow its finances for the seventh year in a row.

“Only 2 percent of the charities we rate have received at least 7 consecutive 4-star evaluations, indicating that Habitat for Humanity of Lee County, Florida consistently executes its mission in a fiscally responsible way, and outperforms most other charities in America. This rating differentiates Habitat for Humanity of Lee County, Florida from its peers and demonstrates to the public it is worthy of their trust,” says Charity Navigator President and CEO Ken Berger.

Forbes, Business Week, and Kiplinger’s Financial Magazine, among others, relies on Charity Navigator’s evaluations when analyzing financials in the charitable sector. Charity Navigator’s data shows that last year donors gave an estimated $10 billion more in charitable gifts after measuring up non-profit balance sheets with Charity Navigator.
