Getting to know your local bartender: Susie Tvardek
Many of our local bartenders have become very familiar faces on the island. We meet them at the library, grocery store and pharmacy here on the island. Many of these same people who greet us at our favorite watering holes are not only our servers but our neighbors, and one such resident who wields a shot glass is Sue Tvardek. A long-time fixture at the Moose Lodge in St. James City, Tvardek moved to Pine Island in 1980 with her son, Matt Tvardek with Island Lawn Care, and she enjoys working with the public.
“I really enjoy working at the Moose. Everyone is so nice and a lot of fun people come here,” she said.

3. How long have you been working here: 10 years at the Moose and at the Lob Lolly, Dolphin Lounge and the American Legion

5. When you were younger, what did you want to be when you grew up: A mom, I have six children
6. What’s your drink of choice: Canadian Mist, club soda and a titch of Coke

9. Where do you see yourself in 10 years: Probably still bartending, with a cane
