Free admission for educators and school staff Edison & Ford Winter Estate, Aug. 22
The Edison & Ford Winter Estates is extending free admission to educators, school staff and their families on Aug. 22, 2009. Free admission includes a tour of the historic homes and gardens, and entrance into the Estates Museum and Edison Botanic Lab. Special tours for educators will be held at 10 a.m. and Noon.
Registration for tours is required.
In addition, Educators will receive a 10 percent discount on any Estates
membership and 25 percent off any curriculum related materials in the Museum Store. Sample lesson plans and educational materials will be available for classroom curriculums at the Estates membership desk.
Educators and school staff must present a school issued identification
badge to receive free admission.
The Estates is open daily from 9 a.m. – 5:30 p.m. The Estates is the
winner of the 2009 National Stewardship Award from the National Trust
for Historic Preservation and is an official project of “Save America’s
Treasures” at the National Trust for Historic Preservation, a Florida
Historic Landmark and a National Register Historic Site. For additional

The Estates has received grants from the Historical Museums
Grants-in-Aid Program through the Bureau of Historical Museums, Division
of Natural Resources, Florida Department of State and Secretary of State
