Chrome Divas to host motorcycle poker run benefit
Bikers from all over Lee County will mount their Harleys later this month to ride for a good cause.
In a response to a call for assistance, the ladies motorcycle club, Chrome Divas of Cape Coral and Fort Myers, will host a Charity Fund Raiser and Poker Run for a fellow biker, Phil Rephis, on Sunday, Aug. 16. The rain-or-shine event will begin with registration at Jimmy’s Pike Cadillac in Fort Myers at 10 a.m. with the first bike out at 11 a.m.
Participants will make stops along the way at Back Streets Sports Bar in Cape Coral, Miceli’s Restaurant in Matlacha, R.J.’s Bar and Grill in North Fort Myers, and then finish the run at Alli-Gator’s in Fort Myers.
The cost to participate will be $20 per rider and $10 for passengers. The fee also includes a pig roast that will take place at Alli-Gator’s when the last bike rolls in at 2 p.m.
In addition to cash prizes for winners of the poker run, participants and spectators alike can enjoy the pig roast, listen to live music and shop the vendors who will be in attendance at the end of the run. In addition, several 50/50s will be offered throughout the afternoon.
The poker run will benefit motorcycle enthusiast Rephis, the owner of Spokes and Power Motorcycle shop, to help defray his medical costs. Recently he had his left leg amputated below the knee due to complications associated with diabetes. He will be present at the end of the poker run to thank participants for their support.
