Betty Lou Brant Fisher
Betty Lou Brant Fisher, 76, of Bokeelia died peacefully in the comfort of her home surrounded by her loving family July 10, 2009. She was born April 17, 1933, in Highland, Ind., to William Joseph and Helen Margaret (nee Skinner) Brant. She graduated from Purdue University June 1955 and became a teacher at the Durgen Grade School in Lafayette, Ind.
She was a member of the Kappa Alpha Theta Fraternity, founded in 1870, which holds the honor of becoming the first Greek letter fraternity known among women. After many years of vacationing in the Southwest Florida area, she moved with her family in 2005 to Bokeelia, from Chester County, Pa.
She was a member of the Eastern Star, Royal Center, Ind.
She was employed by General Electric in Cincinnati, Ohio, as an engineering assistant. She enjoyed traveling, cooking, reading and the daily crossword puzzle.
She is survived by Charles A. Fisher Jr., her loving husband of 54 years;
her devoted son, Charles A. (Jill) Fisher III; one brother, William Joseph (Eddy) Brant Jr.; and several nieces and nephews.
She was a wonderful human being and a devoted wife, mother and sister. She was a kind and caring person and will be sadly missed by all who knew her. A celebration of Betty’s life will be held at a later date.
In lieu of flowers, memorial gifts may be sent to the donor’s favorite charity in her memory.
