Old Fish House Marina will host Crab Trap Cleanup and Fish Fry
Sponsored by Sea Grant and Lee County Commercial Fishermen, the Olde Fish House Marina will host a Crab Trap Cleanup and Fish Fry on Friday, July 10. Area commercial fishermen have registered to donate their time, labor and boats to help retrieve abandoned and damaged traps from local waters.
The trap retrieval will take place from 8 a.m. to noon followed by a fish fry from 1 to 3 p.m. at the Olde Fish House Marina, 4530 Pine Island Road, N.W., Matlacha.
Lunch will be free for all who volunteer with the trap cleanup and others can pay $7 for a serving of the fish fry. Lunch will consist of fried, freshly caught mullet, hush puppies and homemade side dishes from the homes of local fishermen.
