The Lee County Department of Transportation (LC DOT) will conduct a public information workshop for the Hancock Bridge Parkway Extension Alignment study on Thursday, May 21 from 4:30 to 6:30 p.m. at the North Fort Myers United Methodist Church Fellowship Hall, 81 Pondella Road, North Fort Myers. In Fall 2008, LC DOT began conducting an alignment study for the proposed extension of Hancock Bridge Parkway in North Fort Myers. The study area is from U.S. 41, east to U.S. Business 41 and from the Caloosahatchee River, north to Pondella Road. the extension of Hancock Bridge Parkway from U.S. 41 to U.S. Business 41 is expected to alleviate the current traffic congestion experienced during morning and afternoon peak periods by redistributing east/west traffic between the Edison Bridge and the Caloosahatchee Bridge. This extension also supports the North Fort Myers Community planning effort.
Learn more about the possible extension of Hancock Bridge Parkway at the workshop. Display boards will be available for viewing and representatives from LC DOT project team will be in attendance to discuss the project and answer questions.
