Pine Island Dance to hold recital May 31
On Sunday, May 31, Pine Island Dance will hold its 20th Annual Recital. This year’s theme is “Follow the Yellow Brick Road”. The show will feature music from “The Wizard of Oz”, “The Wiz”, and “Wicked”. As always, the Recital will showcase the incredible and diverse talents of our local kids. You can look forward to seeing Hip Hop, Tap, Ballet, Pointe, Lyrical and some singing and skits too! Pine Island Dance invites everyone on the Island to come and see their wonderful adventures and travels along the yellow brick road. The show will be performed at Ida Baker High School at 3 p.m. Tickets are available at the door. The cost is $10 for adults and $5 for students.
Also, Pine Island Dance is proud to announce that Monique Classen and Olivia Honeywell will each attend Cecchetti International Summer School as recipients of $600 CCA scholarships! Evan Berlanti will attend on a $900 CCA Men’s scholarship, and Leslie Wood will attend as the recipient of the “Anida Sedala teacher’s scholarship”. This is the first time in Pine Island Dance history that three students have received scholarships.
