Island ladies celebrate May Day

The island played host to many “celebrities” as the second annual May Day for the Bokeelia First Wednesday group was held on May 6, at Dot Mahan’s home.
In attendance for the festivities were Carmen Miranda, Betty Crocker, Chicken Little and many more. All agreed that Pat Barnhart, the hostess with the mostess, shall be the Kitchen May Day Queen for 2009 and so she was crowned.
Present for the May Day event were Marilyn Hedlund, Karen Long, Mij Tobin, Chris Wiederhold, Karen Hansen, Jackie Judd, Jeanne Adams, Jackie Kish, Genev Koonce, Sue Trimble, Diane Nivins, Marilyn Porthouse, Ruth DeFranco, CarolAnn Turner, Bunk Green, Pat Cole, Dot Mahan, Meridith Higgins and Pat Barnhart.
