Koucky’s Gallery to offer knife-making workshop

1 min read

Experienced knife-makers Ken and Paula Largin will teach the techniques required to fashion a custom knife. The workshop will take place at Koucky Gallery and Garden Wednesday, April 8, from 1-4 p.m., in the courtyard of the gallery.

The Largin’ have traveled the country providing demonstrations to scout troops and other organizations aboard their solar-powered mobile knife shop which also will be at Koucky’s. A prolific knife-maker, Ken has hand-ground over 75,000 blades during his 30-year career, and Paula has been making knives for 14 years. Both have since retired from knife-making and now devote all of their time to teaching this trade to others.

Workshop participants will learn how to make two different knives – a horseshoe knife and a mini nail knife. The cost to participate is $20 per person to cover materials for the unique opportunity to learn a new skill.
