Announcing the winners of Rally for the Cure
Earlier this month, a field of 48 golfers participated in the annual Rally for the Cure Golf Tournament held at Alden Pines Country Club in Bokeelia. The charity event, co-chaired by Barabara Wright and Pam Michel, was held on April 9. The format was a four-person scramble and was followed by lunch and presentation of awards. The first prize for lowest score went to the team of May McDermond, Rita Davis, Linda Miller and Joyce Marchand. Other prizes were awarded to winners of “closest to the pin” contest, Flo Johnson and Cindy Turcale. Cindy has volunteered to organize the event in 2010.
More than 25 local businesses supported the event by generously donating prizes. We are extremely grateful for the generosity and support. The event raised over $1,500 for the charities and was considered a huge success.
