Island Picnic and PPPPR set for April 5

Pine Islanders should save the date of Sunday, April 5, for a new twist on an island event. That’s the date of the Matlacha Civic Association “Island Picnic and PPPPR (Paddle/Peddle/Pedestrian Poker Run).”

Plans call for an afternoon poker run starting at Matlacha Park that can be completed by kayaking, canoeing, bicycling, or walking. Then the public and poker-run entrants are invited to an evening picnic that will include food and entertainment at Matlacha’s Fish House Marina.

Watch the Eagle for details, and call Bill Stoelker at (239)898-2121 or

Melady Kehm at 282-1219 for tickets.
