Ring in the holiday season island-style by attending the annual St. James City Christmas Boat Parade. Brightly decorated boats of every shape and size will take to the waters of St. James City in celebration of the holiday season and all are invited to line the seawalls and enjoy the show.

Sponsored by the Pine Island Boat Club, the parade is open to any boaters who wish to participate. This year’s parade will take place on Saturday, Dec. 20. This year’s boat parade will be dedicated to all branches of our nations military including the Army, Marines, Coast Guard, Air Force and Navy.

Participants will meet earlier in the day at 4 p.m. at Woody’s Waterside Restaurant in St. James City. All are welcome to come out to meet the captains and see the boats while listening to live music provided by Mark Northy. The parade will begin at 6 p.m.

According to organizers, the parade route will take the decorated boats southbound along the Monroe Canal then northward on Cherry to Royal Palm. From this point, weather permitting, the fleet will travel to the Henley Canal past the Waterfront Restaurant then back to Woody’s Waterside.

For more information or to register your boat in the parade, call Boat Parade Chairman, Dave Fairbanks at 410-703-4462 or Frank Taugner at 283-7202.
