Last Monday night, the Pine Island Eagle held its annual dinner at Sandy Hook Fish and Rib House for the “Best of Pine Island” winners.

“This is the 12 year in a row that the Eagle has celebrated ‘The Best of Pine Island,'” Charlene Russ, advertising sales executive for the Pine Island Eagle newspaper, said. “It gives us an opportunity to recognize the incredible business owners and service providers we have on Pine Island.”

Each year the Eagle publishes a “Best of Pine Island” ballot. Pine Islanders then fill in the ballot naming their favorite businesses and return the completed form to the Eagle. Ballots are then counted to calculate the winners for best restaurant, best retail, best entertainment, best accountant and more.

The special dinner program was sponsored by the Breeze Newspapers and Pine Island Eagle at Sandy Hook Fish and Rib House recognizing the 2017 winners. After a dinner of stuffed shrimp, pasta, chicken wings, quinoa salad and Key Lime Pie, the awards were handed out.

The photos of the winners are available online.
