Landscaping business opens
Pine Island Chamber of Commerce Executive Director Jennifer Jennings and business owner Juan Castaneda cut the ribbon last week to celebrate the grand opening of J.M.C. Landscaping LLC.
The new business is located between Dairy Queen and Stonegate Bank just south of the center on Stringfellow Road. Juan Castaneda is just 19 years old.
“This ribbon-cutting ceremony for J.M.C. marks the launch of a new era for their business and we are happy to celebrate and be part of their grand opening,” Jennings said. “The Board of Directors and staff wish them the best of luck in their new endeavor.”
“I’ve always enjoyed landscaping and growing things,” Castaneda said. “This is a dream come true for me to get this business up and running.”
J.M.C. Is a full-service operation.
“We specialize in palms,” Casteneda said. “My father and I grow palms here on the island and all of the palms I sell come from our land.”
Castaneda also has tropical fruit trees, bamboo and shrubs, as well as offering garden and landscaping care and maintenance.
“We also offer landscaping delivery and installation, fertilizing, trimming, tree removal, herbiciding, irrigation installation and seasonal cleanups,” Castaneda said. “We can provide various materials such as rock, shell, mulch, fill dirt and sod. If you don’t see it be sure to ask.”
“This is a very satisfying business for me,” Casteneda said. “When people are excited and happy with the outcome it makes all the hard work worth it.”
