Low Key Tiki will hold its 3rd Annual Rock On the Dock Song Writer’s Festival on Saturday, June 14, from 1-6 p.m.

“The original thought behind this three years ago was to let people hear some original music from the talent we have here on the island,” Scott Adams, owner of Low Key Tiki, said. “This is our third time we’re doing this event. It’s composed of about 10 to 15 musicians singles, duos and trios mostly because it takes less time to set up. That way we have more time when music is playing. Each musician plays for about 15 to 20 minutes and the total event will be from 1 p.m. until 6 p.m.”

So far the confirmed musicians are Pat McCune, Rudy Cox, Cindy Walsh, Mike Parker, Bruce & Maria Nanzer, Renn Loren, Doug Card, Bruce Eddie, Siver, Roger & Jimmie from Box Car Swing.

The event will be emceed by Gary & Kerri, who will also be performing. More musicians are signing up to play everyday.

Garry Harvey has been a musician his whole life and will emcee the event.

“There is something extremely different about the listeners on Pine Island. They’ll let you know they don’t like what you’re playing but the support and the loyalty are unlike anyplace I’ve ever played,” Harvey said. “This event has been a huge success. Every year it gets bigger and better and I’m just happy to be a part of it.”

“It’s gives us an opportunity to honor the singer/songwriters here,” Adams said “We have a lot of talent here and this type of event allows them to show it off. Several of the musicians that performed last year will be back this year. It’s just a great summer kick-off event and a fun time for everyone.”
