Festival honoring the planet April 26

Music, food, vendors, artists, demonstrations and a silent auction will fill the day at Earth & Spirit Garden Gallery Saturday, April 26. The event will take place between 10 a.m. and 4 p.m.

The Earth Day Festival benefits C.A.T.S., a Pine Island organization, founded by Edith Schulte. The organization helps stray animals by providing low cost medical care, spaying and neutering, and locating adoptive families.

Beginning at 1 p.m., there will be a keynote presentation and demonstration by Jaime Guerra, aquaponic consultant and designer of Pine Island Aquaponics Integrated (“Edible Garden” Project.)

Aquaponics is the integration of plants and fish culture in an enclosed recirculating water system an ancient technique that uses the natural cycles of both fish and plants to produce synthetics free food. Learn a simple, innovative and efficient system of food production.
