Yard Dog Charlie has announced the release of his seventh CD, “Squeeze Me A Vacation.” The new CD features new originals like “You Wonder Why I Drink” and “San Carlos Island.” It also includes some swampy covers like “5 Pounds Of Possum” and “Please Don?t Bury Me.”

All of Yard Dog Charlie’s CDs have been recorded and produced in his home studio, Back Yard Studio. The official CD release party will be Monday, Jan. 20, from 6-9 p.m., at Woody’s Waterside, 3051 Stringfellow Road, St. James City. Call 239-936-3821 or email yarddogcharlie@gmail.com for more information.

Yard Dog Charlie Kuchler plays, writes and sings songs from the heart. He calls his music “Florida swamp music,” blending Cajun, zydeco, blue grass, country, folk and rock ‘n’ roll into a fun, uplifting and entertaining sound.

Kuchler is a lifelong musician playing keyboard and accordion. While in the popular Milwaukee-based band Hat Trick, he performed with C.J. Chenier, Buckwheat Zydeco and Jimmy Buffett. He has performed at such venues as the House of Blues, Milwaukee’s Summerfest and Ohio’s famous Put-In-Bay.

He has shared the stage with U-2, Cheap Trick, REO Speedwagon and others. Along with being an accomplished musician, Kuchler has also been a booking agent, national talent buyer and promoter. His talent agency, Back Yard Talent, is also available for entertainment ideas.

In 2002, Kuchler helped found the now disbanded touring band The Yard Dogs, who have played from Wisconsin to Key West, recording 11 CDs in 10 years.

In his solo act, Yard Dog Charlie performs many of his own original songs along with obscure but popular cover tunes. He uses backing tracks that he has recorded himself, so what you are hearing is him playing all the instruments. This gives him a real band sound that will make audiences want to clap and dance along.
