Pine Island Food Pantry holds annual meeting

Volunteers from the Pine Island Food Pantry held their annual meeting at the Catholic Church Life Center. Thirty volunteers and guest were in attendance. Father Michael Hughes was the guest speaker.

Following lunch, certificates of appreciation were presented to the Fishers of Men Lutheran Church, St. Johns Episcopal, Our Lady of the Miraculous Medal and Pine Island United Methodist Churches and the Pine Island Eagle for their support.

Ellen Wolf received a Volunteer of the Year Award.

The business meeting followed with an election of officers. Installed for two-year terms were: Dave Grueser president; Kent Hines, V.P.; Barb Vadas, treasures; and Ellen Wolf, secretary. Pam Stark will serve as director for another year.

The pantry is a 501C3 charity and is an outlet for Harry Chapin.
