A few more improvements have been made at Miceli’s Restaurant, which includes paving the parking lot.

Joe Miceli said the paving began Monday, July 15, and depending on the weather is expected to be completed in two weeks. He said they have been trying to pave the parking lot since they opened, but always seemed to hit snags along the way.

This past year the project picked up steam with the help of Tom Sawtell, who works with development services for Lee County.

“Everything will be paved except for the front 75 feet, which is county right-of-way,” Miceli said. “We are able to pave an entrance near our sign.”

The project will be done in sections for minimal impact for their customers.

In addition to the parking lot, Miceli said they also installed acoustic tiles in the dining room to quiet down the echoes, which was completed July 16.

The Miceli’s Restaurant retail store and online presence has also been expanded. The retail store includes new shirts and hats, which Miceli said is expected to expand with more merchandise in the future.

Miceli said they also have pink Miceli’s Restaurant v-neck shirts and spaghetti strap shirts.

“One hundred percent of proceeds go to From Our Hearts,” he said from the pink T-shirts.

The restaurant’s website, Miceli said, is still under construction, but is expected to go live soon.

Miceli’s Restaurant is located at 3930 Pine Island Road in Matlacha.
