Moyer to perform at Bert’s Bar and Grill
An entertainer from Nashville will make two appearances at Bert’s Bar and Grill this month, one of which includes a 10-year anniversary celebration.
Brent Moyer, who is a singer/songwriter, entertainer, guitar, bass and trumpet player and producer became interested in the music industry after listening to a neighbor give clarinet and trumpet lessons.
At the young age of 6 he decided he wanted to be a trumpet player when he grew up.
Over the years his career took off in Americana roots music.
He has toured in Europe since 1992 where he released five CDs on a European label, as well as five others on independent records.
“I enjoy the fact that I get to do a little bit of everything,” Moyer said. “As long as it is music it is great. I like the diversity to be able to do a little bit of everything.”
In 2005, he said he got involved in the Broadway Production “Ring of Fire,” which first premiered in Buffalo, N.Y., for about a year before getting involved in a spin-off version. For the past three years he has traveled to such places as California and Arkansas to perform the production.
“It’s more about the songs,” Moyer said, adding that the production includes a song review and history.
Moyer’s first performance at Bert’s will take place on Jan. 6. The 10-year anniversary party will be held Jan. 27.
Moyer said when he visits the island he stays for a month every year.
