Logo contest under way for chamber’s Seafood & Farmers Market
A logo contest is being held for the Greater Pine Island Chamber of Commerce Seafood & Farmers Market, which is anticipated to open soon.
All local artists and residents are invited to participate in the contest. The Market Committee is seeking a logo that best fits the farmer’s market social atmosphere of fresh produce, seafood, arts and the quaint history of the island.
The designs, which are limited to 2D paintings in watercolor, oil, pastels and acrylic or graphic design, should be submitted on 8 1/2 x 11 white paper. The design should also include GPICC Seafood & Farmers Market, as well as be T-shirt friendly.
The deadline for the entries, which can be picked up at the GPICC Welcome Center, Pine Island Library and the Pine Island Eagle, is Dec. 24. Entry forms can also be found on the GPICC website at www.pineislandchamber.org.
The winning design will receive $50. The artwork will become property of the Greater Pine Island Chamber of Commerce.

Greater Pine Island Chamber of Commerce President-elect Steve Timcak said they are still seeking potential vendors for the Seafood & Farmers Market. He said vendors can also include non-food related items like indoor and outdoor art, fabric or text style items, plants, honey and soaps.
Timcak encourages those who are interested to contact the chamber at 239-283-0888. He said an email with the vendor contract and pricing will be emailed to those interested.
