Mobile Mammo to stop at Stonegate Bank on Oct. 31
Mobile Mammo will celebrate its first anniversary at Stonegate Bank on Oct. 31 beginning at 9 a.m. The traveling coach is the result of a partnership between the bank and Radiology Regional Center.
According to Stonegate Vice President Elsie Stearns, 130 women have received digital mammography service in the past year.
“The convenience is unbelievable,” Stearns said. “It would take half a day to drive to Cape Coral to have this done.”
A doctor’s prescription is not necessary for a screening mammogram, but an appointment is required. Most insurance plans are accepted. Discounted self-pay pricing is also available. Women who do not have health insurance or who need financial assistance may call the Beacon of H.O.P.E. to see if they qualify for assistance. From Our Hearts provides some funding.
“Lack of money shouldn’t be a reason not to go,” said Betsy Haesemeyer, Beacon’s executive director.
Each woman who makes an appointment for Oct. 31 will receive a special gift provided by the bank and From Our Hearts.
Call (239) 936-2316 for an appointment or Beacon of H.O.P.E. for more information at (239) 283-5123.
