Calusa Ridge breaks ground for model home

Holding seven reservations for homes, Calusa Ridge, Pine Island’s new nature preserve community, broke ground last week for a model home.
“We are very excited about the response we are receiving for this project,” said Calusa Ridge manager Roger Schutt. “We currently have several properties under contract with a few pending at this point. What is just as exciting is that not only do we have property owners from Germany, Michigan, New Jersey and Ohio, but we also are finding a great deal of interest in those who already live here locally.”
The first home on the property, the Boca Grande, is a Florida design, three-bedroom, two-bath single family home with large front and rear porches, a swimming pool and an oversized, side load garage.
“Some of the nice features of this home are the 20- inch tiles that will be used in the great room area and all of the counter tops will be granite,” Schutt said. “I think people will really enjoy the open floor plan and we are doing our best to disturb the native vegetation as little as possible to maintain the nature preserve of the area.”
Calusa Ridge is a 60-acre gated community located on Stringfellow Road in Bokeelia. The property features ample open spaces with native vegetation, a six-acre lake and all the the utilities will be installed underground. Home sites range in price from $39,900 to $59,900 and the preferred builder, SWFL Homes is offering several floor plans ranging from 1,600 square feet and up with pricing starting at $179,900.
