Legion Auxiliary hosts Back to School Carnival
The American Legion Auxiliary Post 136 had a great time hosting its second annual Back to School Carnival. Children under 12 were given free hot dogs, cotton candy and ice cream. They also enjoyed several carnival-style games and face painting with Ila Valcarcel.
An extra added treat were free backpacks loaded with school supplies that were given to the children to use for the school year.
The auxiliary is offering special thanks to Dollar General and the public for their generous donations to help children get the things they needed for starting school this year; to the Matlatcha Hookers, for the tents; and to all the volunteers who donated their time.
