Elks scholarship application deadline April 15

Greater Pine Island Elks #2781 is offering individual scholarships to any Pine Island resident who is graduating high school, any senior planning to pursue postsecondary education in 2022, including university, college, technical college or trade school. Each scholarship is paid to the student’s I.D. account at their next school.

These scholarships will be awarded on a lottery basis, will be announced by May 5, 2022 and issued by May 30, 2022. These scholarships are made possible by the Greater Pine Island Elks Charitable Trust. The trust raises monies to support youth and youth activities on Greater Pine Island through its annual golf tournament and the Snowbird Marathon.

The Greater Pine Island Elks Lodge is dedicated to the development of local youth and the growth of our student’s minds. The youth are the future of America. The lodge strives to encourage young people to pursue their dreams. To achieve this aspiration, the lodge provide scholarships to those deemed worthy. Applications are available at the lodge or emailed by request and must be submitted by April 15.

To qualify:

• Must be a high school senior class of 2021 or class of 2022 with intention of pursuing postsecondary education or a first-year student already pursuing a postsecondary education.

• Pursuing a four-year degree, on a full-time basis (minimum of 2 semester hours), in a U.S. college or university.

• Complete Greater Pine island Elks scholarship application.
