Sweeney’s SOS expanding
Patti Sweeney of Sweeney’s SOS is expanding her space as well as adding some healing modalities to her line of soap and skin care products.
The other side of the building, Sweeney said, was a print shop she has recently acquired, which will double the size of her space as well as the addition of central air and heat.
“It’s nice for me. I’m excited about being able to paint the building to match and do some landscaping. I can even have some signage on the side, so people can see that it’s a gift shop here,” Sweeney said.
Because Sweeney makes her own soaps, the added air conditioning will allow them to cure, even in the summer, she said.
“I’ve dealt with the heat and humidity for the past 10 years, but this will be the first time I’ll actually have a controlled environment,” Sweeney said.
Excitement over her new space addition has encouraged Sweeney to share the space with others, such as hosting a painting class, a sound healing, a floral arrangement class, a food oracle workshop and an instructional class on the Reikki healing modality. Sweeney said she is very interested in giving people a space to share their gifts and talents with the community.
“The opportunities are endless for this expanded space. There are other things I’d like to bring to Pine Island, like an organic tea selection,” she added.
“Over the summer, I’ll probably open it up so it’s one unit. I’m just very grateful to be here on Pine Island. I’m grateful for the new addition and for all the gifted people here that I’ll be able to share this space with,” Sweeney said.
