Patriots Pen and Voice of Democracy scholarships awarded

The Greater Pine Island VFW Post 4353 Auxiliary recently awarded winners of Patriots Pen and Voice of Democracy $100 scholarships, in addition to the Post scholarship, which is also $100. The check presentation included, from left, Carol Kerby, Auxiliary president; Riley Laurencius, Voice of Democracy winner; Post Commander Tom Ferguson behind; and Auxiliary Treasurer Jill Davidson. Riley also placed at the District level netting another scholarship check. Patriots Pen Winner Kayleigh Garcia, who was unavailable for the photo, also received a scholarship check from both the Auxiliary and the Post.
