Island Fest Mullet Toss and Seafood Festival set for March 12 at Phillips Park

The Island Fest Mullet Toss and Seafood Festival will be held Saturday, March 12, at Phillips Park at Center from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m.

This is a fun-filled family day that is steeped in island tradition.

The Mullet Toss will begin at 11 a.m. and continue throughout the day by age group. Fishing seminars will begin at 10 a.m. and continue hourly until 2 p.m.

Over 30 vendors will be selling local art, crafts and nautical items. Local seafood and craft beverages will be available to all to enjoy,

The island Kiwanis Club will be on site with its annual fish drop, which is scheduled for 2 p.m. The winner will receive a $1,000 prize.

Proceeds from the event will benefit Pine Island Youth Baseball and the Greater Pine Island Chamber of Commerce.

Event sponsors include Bob & Annie’s Boatyard, Monroe Canal Marina, Staci Stevens Realtor, York Road Marina, Bokeelia Fishing Pier, Suncoast Beverage and Captiva Spirits.
