Firefighter Bernard has been awarded the 2021 Employee of the Year for the Matlacha/Pine Island Fire Control District. He has done an amazing job of protecting and serving this great community. He is also leading the department into its future plan of becoming an Advanced Life Support agency. Currently, he is attending school to be a firefighter/paramedic for the district.
Engineer Rogowski has received the department’s Hot Shot Award. This award goes to the crewmember that ran the most calls. He ran 241 calls in 2021!
The district is very proud of both employees and their accomplishments!
