Cat of the Week: Chewie

This little girl has a rags to riches story. She was dropped off last year with a tiny kitten. Both were covered in fleas and the kitten was so anemic that it only lived for a few hours. It was extremely sad and poor Chewie wasn’t much better off. She was extremely underweight, covered in scabs and missing patches of fur. The first month she was with us, she wanted to be left alone and spent her time sleeping. The poor girl was exhausted and needed time to recover from pregnancy, depression and blood loss. It’s amazing what a vet visit, regular meals, patience and lots of love can do. Chewie is now a chunky ball of purrs. She is still lazy and prefers to lay around waiting to be petted. We have no idea how old she is, as the woman that dropped her off was extremely vague about her situation. I can tell you Chewie is cute, sweet and would make the perfect couch potato to binge watch your favorite shows with. I wish I had a “before photo” to show how far she has come. Her purr-sonality reflects her gratitude and I think she’s finally ready to be someone’s kitty again.
