This month’s roster of activities at the Pine Island Public Library offers topics for all ages. The following programs are free to the public.

Adult Programs

Download Drop-In

5 p.m., Wednesdays, Jan. 5, 19

Receive personalized help downloading e-books, movies, music and more from Overdrive and Hoopla, two of Lee County Library System’s largest online content providers. Bring your fully charged digital device for this hands-on help session.

Tech Thursdays: One-on-One Help

3:30 p.m., Thursday, Jan. 13, 27

Need help with a laptop, tablet or e-reader? Are you looking to gain basic computer skills? We can help. Bring your fully charged device and any passwords for a 15-minute, one-on-one technology session. Registration is required.

Board Games

2 p.m., Saturday, Jan. 15

Meet new friends while learning how to play board and card games at this all-ages program. A variety of games appropriate for all skill levels and ages will be available. First come, first served.

Libby, Hoopla & e-Resources

11 a.m., Saturday, Jan. 22

What is an e-resource? What are Overdrive, Libby and Hoopla? How many e-resources can I use with my library card? Learn how to download e-books, movies, music and more from Overdrive/Libby and Hoopla. Also, learn about other e-resources that are accessible with your Lee County Library Card. Note: Please be sure you charge your device and bring any passwords you may need for downloading apps. Kindle users will also need an Amazon account and their password for accessing it.

Creative Space

9:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.

Friday, Jan. 28 & Saturday, Jan. 29

Relax and inspire others while creating your own art project using a variety of available materials. Perfect for adults, children and teens. Craft items will be supplied. First come, first served.

Children’s Programs

Kids Read Down Fines

4-7 p.m., Wednesdays, Jan. 5, 12, 19, 26

Noon to 4 p.m., Saturdays, Jan. 8, 15, 22, 29

Children and teens can earn a $2 credit on overdue fines for every 15 minutes they read in the designated area for a total of $8 in one session. Please bring your library card.

Family Storytime

10:30 a.m., Tuesdays, Jan. 11, 18, 25

For children through age 5 and caregivers. Families with young children enjoy a variety of stories, songs, rhymes and movement. Space is limited. First come, first served.
