Matlacha Civic Association to sponsor Christmas tree lighting and holiday pot luck

The Matlacha Civic Association is emerging from the past year to plan its agenda for the coming year. There are many newcomers to the islands, and MCA is initiating an electronic newsletter for the future. MCA is an IRS 501(c)(3) charitable organization founded in 2003 by the residents of Matlacha.
For the third year in a row, the MCA is sponsoring the island Christmas Tree lighting on Friday, Dec. 10, in George Williamson’s lot across from CW Fudge Factory starting at 5 p.m. Enjoy caroling, Christmas goodies, and pay your respects to Santa Claus.
MCA is holding its Holiday Meeting at 6 p.m. on Dec. 15 at the Arts Building located in the Community Park at 4577 Pine Island Road. This meeting will be the Holiday Pot Luck celebration. Nominees for the MCA Board will be received and election of new board members completed. Come with a dish and place your name in nomination.
Besides good fun, an annual Gala, and news of Matlacha, the Matlacha Civic Association provides a democratic process for islanders to make their wishes known to Lee County and Cape Coral officials.
The MCA requests that Matlacha islanders and businesses – including Matlacha Isles – register for the digital newsletter by sending an email to MatlachaCivic@gmail.com. Provide your address, the names of persons in your household, email addresses, and cell phone numbers.
