Island firefighter Cicoria retires
The Matlacha/Pine Island Fire Control District would like to recognize Firefighter Gerard Cicoria for his 14 years of dedication to the members of our community. Cicoria started as a volunteer firefighter for our department in 2007 before becoming a full-time member in 2011. During this time, he was a valued member of the department and was well respected by his peers.
With his vast experience in the tree service industry, he was always willing to pass along valuable information to the next generations of firefighters. This included everything from teaching classes on small engine and tool maintenance, to safety information while working on brush fires.
The District would like to wish him a safe and happy retirement as he begins the next chapter of his life.
