From the Firehouse: MPIFCD holds Christmas Tree lighting
The Fire Department’s Annual Christmas Tree Lighting was a huge success! Guests were able to enjoy beautiful lights, arts and crafts, light refreshments and most importantly meet Santa and Mrs. Claus. Santa even brought some early gifts to all the kids. Every child was given a stuffed animal and a candy cane.
It was nice to have everyone back at the firehouse and provide this fun event to the community we serve.
Here are a few safety considerations to keep in mind over the holiday season:
• Always turn off Christmas tree lights before leaving home or going to bed.
• Make sure the tree is not blocking an exit.
• Add water to the tree stand. Be sure to add water daily.
• Keep lit candles away from decorations and other things that can burn.
• Keep decorations away from windows and doors
