Chamber makes donations to island organizations
Celebrating the holiday season, the Greater Pine Island Chamber of Commerce gave donations from the proceeds of the Stone Crab and Adopt a Crab Festival event to Pine Island FISH, the Matlacha Hookers and Pine Island VFW Post #4353.
At its Network at Night event, Chamber executive administrator Tammy Aeschliman said network events like this one are a great way to build relationships within the business community.
“This comfortable, inviting atmosphere invites people to build relationships with one another by giving them an opportunity to meet people they may not already know,” Aeschliman said.
The event, she said, was easily able to combine business networking with a relaxing holiday environment. Approximately 70 members attended, Little Lily’s Island Deli hosted and catered the event, with cookies provided by the Naughty Baker and Dave Byron provided the musical entertainment.
“We also want to thank the Island Exchange Center, Jay and Mary Johnson. They did a great job putting together such a successful network at night event,” Aeschliman said.
These chamber network events, she said, will be done quarterly. The next one will be in March, with its location yet to be determined.
“The community supported the chamber when the chamber needed it, so we were really glad to be able to give back this year. We are in the process of building back up and are happy to get back to where we need to be,” Aeschliman said.
