Barefoot Christmas benefit concert supports Pine Island Food Pantry
A Barefoot Christmas benefit concert was held at Bert’s Bar & Grill Wednesday night, Dec. 15, by Yard Dog Charlie for the Pine Island Food Pantry.
About $250 to $300 was raised for the food pantry and a good amount of food was donated.
“A friend of mine is dropping off food at the food pantry. We did pretty good there,” Charlie Kuchler said.
He said he does a Barefoot Christmas party this time of year, as he plays barefoot.
“We also usually do Labor Day, Memorial Day and sometimes the Fourth of July. We do some kind of benefit,” Kuchler said.
Around the holidays, he said they traditionally hold a benefit for the Pine Island Food Pantry as they are “strapped pretty good and low on supplies.”
“We try to help through the holiday seasons,” Kuchler said.
He wanted to thank everyone for their support, as people donated items for the benefit.
