The Annual Christmas tree lighting in Matlacha will be held Friday night, Dec. 10, at 6 p.m.

The lighting will take place at the intersection of Pine Island Road and Island Avenue.

Cookies will be passed around and Santa will be ready to visit the little ones. DJ Kathleen will have holiday music and Lee Country Sheriff will provide safe patrolling on Pine Island Road.

The organizing committee thanks Bert’s Bar, George Williamson for donating the use of his lot and chief engineer Jake Sadlak for his time and expertise to build trees and this year.

Another thank you from the organizers goes to Barnhill Seafood Market, which will provide the needed electricity.

The Matlacha Christmas Tree Committee invites everyone on the islands and in the area to participate with the “Let’s Light Up Matlacha” event.
