Pine Island Elks Lodge #2781 to host Veterans Appreciation Dinner Thursday
The Greater Pine Island Elks Lodge #2781 will offer its annual Veterans Appreciation Dinner Thursday, Nov. 11, at 5630 Pine Island Road, Bokeelia, from 5-7 p.m.
The traditional Italian dinner is open to all in the community, and, in honor of their service, veterans’ dinners are free of charge. Non-veterans’ price is $8.50.
The Elks have a pledge: “So long as there are Veterans, the Benevolent and Protective Order of Elks will never forget them.”
This year, 2021, marks the 75th anniversary of the Elks National Veterans Service Commission, which officially came into existence in 1946, inspired by a passion for continuing to serve those who risked their lives for this country.
