On Wednesday, Nov. 10, students and staff at Pine Island Elementary honored Veteran’s Day by greeting and thanking many local veterans with a drive-through parade-type ceremony. Veterans were invited to drive to the school and take a tour through the parent pickup ramp, as students cheered, sang and waved signs and posters thanking those guests for their service. In addition, attendees received cards, notes, student-made ceramic poppies and gift cards generously donated from Outback Steakhouse.
