Hurricane seminar Thursday at Pine Island United Methodist Church
The Matlacha/Pine Island Fire Control District is teaming up with Lee County Emergency Management to hold a free hurricane seminar Thursday, July 8, at Pine Island United Methodist Church at 5701 Pine Island Road, Bokeelia.
The PowerPoint presentation will cover a number hurricane preparedness topics, such as what to have in your ready-kit, prescription refills, pet planning, flood zones and shelter locations.
Information about obtaining a hurricane sticker will also be provided. Residents will need the sticker to have access to the island should a storm strike and force an evacuation.
