Step-Up Day at Pine Island Elementary

On Friday, May 28, students in K-5 at Pine Island Elementary School participated in Step-Up Day. This is a traditional end-of-the-year event where students learn about the transition to the next grade level. It is a very exciting time for students to see their new classrooms and hear all the great things that will happen next year. It is also a great opportunity for the teachers to begin building relationships with students. Principal Millins was impressed with how well the students received this special day. The 5th grade class also had an opportunity to meet with middle school representatives to hear about the differences between elementary and middle school. Fifth grader Dalton Dooley stated that “this was a great day,” and he is excited about his next adventure in middle school.
