Pine Island Independence Day celebration to be held Saturday
Parade set to step off at 10 a.m.

The Pine Island Independence Day celebration Parade and Fireworks will be held Saturday July 3. American Legion Post #136 will sponsor the parade to celebrate the birthday of America.
Line up starts at 9 a.m. and the parade will begin at 10 a.m. from the Winn-Dixie parking lot. The parade will run north to the four-way stop at the Center and then west to the Elks Lodge parking lot.
Islanders and local businesses are invited to join and perhaps put a car or a float in the parade with their logo on the side.
After the parade, lunch will kindly be provided for participating children at the Elks Lodge. The American Legion in St. James City will serve hamburgers and hot dogs along with live music starting at noon.
This is a community event and the Legion is open to the public all day. Finally, at dusk please join us at the American Legion for the huge and best fireworks display on Pine Island (weather permitting).
Registration forms for the parade can be picked up at the American Legion at 4106 Stringfellow Road in St James City. For additional information about the July 4th holiday festivities, call 239-283-4434.
