Community Day at Kiwanis Park this Saturday
The Kiwanis Club would like to invite Pine Islanders to Community Day at Kiwanis Park Saturday, May 22, from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m.
Hot dogs and treats will be provided. A demonstration of the exercise equipment will be given by Matlacha Wellness.
It has been just over a year since Kiwanis Park in St. James City officially reopened. It is located at the corner of 5th Avenue and Date Street on the northern end of the St. James City Civic Association property.
The park was originally established by the Lions Club. When the Lion’s Club wrapped up its years of island service, a call went out to help refurbish and continue the park. The Kiwanis Club of Greater Pine Island took on the project, raising funds through grants, community donations and fundraisers. New children’s equipment and exercise equipment have been installed. Benches and picnic tables are also installed for the enjoyment of all.
The Elks’ event is a public celebration of all the donors and supporters who helped continue the Pine Island amenity, and all are invited to see the addition to Pine Island.
Any questions, call Cindy at 954-249-5512.
