Although plans are still being finalized for graduations this year, graduates will have two tickets for family members to attend an in-person event, school officials said this week.

School District of Lee County Superintendent Dr. Greg Adkins said they are still on track to hold the graduations on Friday, June 4; Saturday, June 5; and Sunday, June 6, at various times – 10 a.m., 2:30 p.m. and 7:30 p.m.

Right now they are on track to have graduations at FSW and Hertz Arena, Adkins said.

With Alico Arena being a bit of a challenge, Adkins said they changed gears and went with Caloosa Sound Convention Center & Amphitheater.

The district will have one graduation on Friday, eight on Saturday and six on Sunday.

“There will be two tickets per graduate because of social distancing. The good news is we will be able to live stream from the events,” Adkins said, adding this will allow family members who are not able to attend to still have the opportunity to view the graduation.

The contracts for the venues will come before the school board for approval.

Adkins said they are also working with health care providers to finalize their plans for graduation before they get final details out to families.
