Fire this morning under investigation

Today, Sept. 16, at approximately 6:04 a.m., multiple units of the Matlacha/Pine Island Fire Control District and other emergency crews responded to a residential structure fire at The Palms at Pine Island. Responding units included: E-151, E-152, E-153, E-154, T-151, Capt-150, PI-1, PI-2, PI-03, PI-7, LCEMS M-10,DO-2, and the Lee County Sheriff's Office (LCSO). Upon arrival, the first-in engine company found two mobile homes fully involved in fire. Crews immediately initiated suppression efforts and focused on protecting adjacent structures.
