G “Marion” Clark (nee Bennett) passed away on July 5, 2024, in Bokeelia, Florida at the age of 82. Born on May 16, 1942, in Binghamton, New York, Marion was a cherished figure in her community and deeply loved by those who knew her. Marion was a devoted wife to her late husband, John Clark, with whom she moved to Pine Island, Florida in 1980. There, they embraced a rustic lifestyle, surrounded by the natural beauty of eagles, osprey, and the tranquil ocean. Marion and John were active members of their community, known for their hospitality and generosity, often hosting Sunday morning breakfasts and potluck dinners. After the passing of her husband in 1997, Marion continued to find joy in golfing, spending time with her family and friends, and dedicating herself to her church. A graduate of Cortland University with a Teaching Degree, she brought her passion for education and community service to the Pine Island United Methodist Church, where she served in various capacities including Treasurer, Membership Officer, and Teacher. Her Bible Study classes were a staple and well-attended every Monday morning.

Marion is survived by her sisters, Jane (Dan) Meyers and Martha (George) Moulton; her son, Ronald Clark; her daughter, Monica (Greg) Shenk; and several grandchildren, nieces, nephews, and cousins. She was preceded in death by her parents, Morgan and Alice Bennett.

A memorial service will be held at the Pine Island United Methodist Church, 5701 Pine Island Rd NW, Bokeelia, Florida, on January 19, 2025 at 11:00 a.m. A Luncheon will immediately follow the service.

Marion’s life was a testament to her love for others, and she will be profoundly missed by all who were fortunate enough to know her.
