M/PIFCD, Lee County Emergency Management hurricane seminar May 26
Matlacha/Pine Island Fire Control District will host its Annual Hurricane Seminar with Lee County Emergency Management Thursday, May 26, at 6 p.m., at Pine Island United Methodist Church, 5701 Pine Island Road, Bokeelia.
The cost is free.
The seminar is a great opportunity for islanders to learn about hurricane preparedness. In addition, residents may obtain their hurricane sticker during that time to ease re-entry onto the island if checkpoints are implemented. The sticker is placed inside your car window and will be valid until 2022.
Here are a few things to bring and what you need to do to get your sticker:
– You can obtain two stickers per drivers license
– You must provide proof of residency (drivers license with district address, utility bill, tax bill, etc.)
– You will need to provide license plate number(s)
– You will need to fill out a short application
This program is designed to ease re-entry. This is a voluntary program and is not a requirement. Residents are still able to re-enter by providing proof of residency at checkpoints when implemented.
If you have any questions, please call the M/PIFCD at 239-283-0030.
