At the end of July, Alex Jordan opened his new CBD and Vape Shop in the old Wells Fargo building on Stringfellow Road. His greatest passion is in helping people who are currently in pain. He said he loves to educate and inform people who may not be familiar with his products or the CBD industry.

“I’ve been giving out free samples of pain creams to the elderly,” said Jordan. “I tell them, if it’s not working, just come back to me. I want to cater to the islanders.”

The feedback Jordan has received so far, he said, is very positive, as his products have already worked for many, who say they’ll be back for another month’s supply.

“Things are going very well,” Jordan said. “The islanders are telling me my prices are better than surrounding cities, without them having to even leave the island.”

Although Jordan originally came to Pine Island just to start his business, now he is building a home here, and is excited to become an official resident. Originally from West Virginia, Jordan said his former job was working the pipeline. He left that trade to pursue a career helping others.

“I’ve always believed in the industry,” said Jordan. “It’s always been scrutinized, but now it’s starting to become more accepted. I know a lot about this business and I believe I can help people. Disposable vapes, in my opinion, contain fewer carcinogens than cigarettes. It’s just about health and wellness.”

Jordan said the evidence he’s seen in the difference between smoking nicotine and vaping it is enormous and he’s happy to help people to be in better health.

“I’m a hard working American,” said Jordan. “This is my first venture into a small business and I want to cater to my people. I believe in lifting the people up. To me it’s all about getting the people what they need and being happy, not leaving with extra dollars in my hand.”

There will be a Chamber of Commerce ribbon-cutting and official grand opening, Jordan said, on Saturday, Sept. 11.

In the near future, Jordan said he would like to utilize the drive-thru for his customers, dispensing his products in a drop-box fashion, rather than using the air-carriers. The ATM is still in use and he said that doesn’t look like it’s going to change any time soon.
