The Slugs added a big five run second inning, highlighted by two-run doubles off the bats of Wold and Mark Smith.

Luke Harre started on the hill for the Slugs and pitched two scoreless innings before being relieved by Wold, who pitched two scoreless innings of his own and was the winning pitcher. Dalton Dooley completed the shut out for the Slugs by pitching a scoreless fifth inning.

Ty Young followed Barnhill to the mound for the Reds. The Slugs got run scoring singles by Wold and Mark Smith in their half of the fifth for the final 8-0 score.

Other hits for the Slugs were recorded by Carter Olson and Dooley, who both had singles.

The Reds had singles off the bats of Mason Wells and Ty Young for their only two hits of the game.
